KBBG-FM is a subsidiary of Afro-American Community Broadcasting Inc., which was established in 1977. The station is the largest African-American owned and operated non-commercial, educational, community radio station in the state of Iowa, with a broadcast power of 10,000 watts. KBBG educates through its public affairs programming and, more directly, through the Minority Communications Training Institute.
